Rare Large Ornate Rj Horner Grandfather / Tall Case Clock Circa 1890-1910

The clock’s dimensions are approximately; H- 102″, W- 24″ & D- 17. The Case: The case is in FINE physical condition. The case has been beautifully refinished and is extremely clean and looks fantastic for a clock that is almost 100-130 years old. The Dial/Face: The dial is in fine physical condition and has a wonderful patina. There are areas of silver loss, please see pictures. The hour, minute and second hand are original and fit tightly to the arbors. The Mechanism : The 8 day weight driven 1/2 “bim-bam” hour chiming mechanism has been running flawlessly. It has a strong ticking sound and keeps very accurate time. The clock chimes on the 1/2 hour and the hourly strike are wonderful. The sound resonates for a nice long time. The Pendulum : The pendulum is NOT original to the clock but from the time period. The Weights: The 2 brass weights are original and have a wonderful patina and look fantastic. I can not see any dents, breaks, chips, etc.. The Tubes : The tubes are in excellent physical condition and have a great patina. The Glass: The glass is original and look great. Antique collectors and/or clock enthusiasts will love this original condition clock that is in great working order. This clock is extremely clean and looks much better in person than the photos. Early 1900 Ornate frame with a beveled glass with 3 CA quail mounted in case

Early 1900 beveled glass case which holds 3 California mounted quail view pictures. Case has a litho background which is a setting scenery behind the quail. Frame is ornate consisting of plaster, wood with painted gold around each end of the frame. Frame is in great condition few small pieces are missing, which are not noticeable. Schwarz Taxademy is the oldest taxidermy operations in the US. Chwarz Taxademy studio is famous for mountings STL (Phil the gorilla) as well as other mountings for the STLO zoo, A-Busch, and other educational agencies. The frame is unusually constructed w. Ith a square box on the rear which hold the quail and a very ornate frame and metal trim that surround the beveled glass. It can be hung on the wall or stand on its own. Its very old and very ornate. It folds in two as well… It has that shabby Chic look and comes in an off white color. Its in relatively good condition. With some minor scuffs. One of the latches to hold the door shut has been replaced (see last pic). Pics don’t do this rare piece justice…. The balcony’s on the house are particularily very decorative. Curio has that shadowbox style to house your small collectibles. (shelves aren’t too large). Displayed on its own it lights up a room….
