Antique Junghans Bracket Clock Westminster Chimes Elegant & Large Wood Case Runs. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Very unique and uncommon wood Junghans clock case here. The clock probably dates to the 1908 to 1915 period. Then check out the beautiful rounded top on the clock case. The case is all intact, no missing pieces. Some minor finish loss to the case, most noticeably on the left base of the case. The rear wood door is intact and securely attached to the case by the hinges. Wood legs no longer in place on the bottom of the case. A hairline crack run length wise to the bottom piece of the wood case. Beautiful mahogany case on this clock. Some crazing to the finish in places. The clock face is silver with black numbers. Some loss of finish around the wind holes. Center piece and piece around number ring is a silver color as well. The bezel door is securely attached to the case by the hinges. The metal slide latch to secure the back door is no longer in place. The beveled glass in the bezel is intact, no cracking or blistering. The brass movement looks good. This is the A12 model. The springs feel sound when keyed. We have only had this clock for a few days, so cannot speak to how well it is running. Does currently strike and chime when the hands are advanced manually. The clock will come with a wind key. The clock has a Westminster Chime’s unit. The clock chimes every 15 minutes, and then will chime and strikes on the hour. This is a five rod chime/strike unit. The Junghans Clock stands 13.5″ tall, by 11.25″ across, by 7.75 wide. The clock face is 5 across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. Vintage Herschede Mantel Clock Mahogany Case Two Tone Finish No 5052 1925-1928

Serial number 64370 – My search results indicate that this serial number was manufactured between the years of 1925 and 1928. Everything about this HERSCHEDE is high quality. It is in proper working order and keeps time accurately. Are clear with the correct timing. There is a plaque attached to the back of the clock that indicates they had received a Grand Prize in 1915 at the Panama Pacific Exposition. This plaque appears on all Herschede clocks after 1915. It does not mean that the clock that it is attached to is the actual Grand Prize winner, it is just a form of advertising advising that they won the Grand Prize for their clocks. One last thing to be aware of. We had taken the clock in for cleaning and maintenance a few years ago. The individual placed a tape label on the inside of the back door and wrote our last name in marker. When the label was removed we realized the marker had bled through; so our name is now on the inside of the back door. I did not try removing it because I did not want to affect to finish. I just wanted you to be aware of it. The following came from a Herschede brochure about the clock: (image of clock in brochure can be seen in the photos of this listing). 5052 – Two-Tone Finish. Model 55 Pendulum Movement, hand wound. Eight day three-quarter DING-DONG strike. On “Symphony” Chimetone rods. Hour strikes on a single Chimetone rod. The movement is of very rugged construction. We use heavy rectangular plates 3 ¾ inches x 4? The shafts are of high-grade steel and all the pinions are solid cut, insuring a greater degree of accuracy and longer life than the lantern pinions generally used in clocks at this price. Are made of hard-rolled clock brass. Brass bezel, richly gilded; spun hand-silvered finish dial.
