Here we have a Vintage Antique Chinese Diptych Dial, Sundial and recessed Compass with Chinese lettering, with blue needle in a fitted fruitwood case with the hours in numbers 4 to 12 to 8. It is 2 7/8″ by 2″ wide and is believed to be about 1700 AD and in very fine working condition. There is brass hardware to open and securely close it and a paper insert on the lid for operation instructions (see photos) and a string gnomon. This is a genuine antique! .
