Antique Opticians Case Mahogany Wood & 100s of Lenses Many Made by VTF of France. Belonged to Saul Solomon Lancaster PA Optician. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! Very interesting set of optician/optometrist lenses for your collection or decor needs here. Was once owned by a Saul Solomon of Lancaster, PA. The set probably dates to the 1930s to 1940s period, might be before then. This is not the examination lenses used in the office, but the actual lenses the optician would then use to fit into the frames that were selected by the customer. The mahogany case is intact and the hinged lid is still attached to the base of the case. The case is intact, no splits or cracks of the wood. The case has no lock. The right hinge is a little loose and could use a little tightening attention. There are hundreds of glass lenses in the case that has wooded slotted sections for the lenses. Most of the lenses have a paper label on it with blue ink. The size and magnification noted on the front and then the maker of the lenses VTF and France is on the back of the label. The Opticians/Optometrists case is 2-7/8″ tall, by 13-3/8″ across, by 10 wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
