Update: This one is very special — It is made out of Blood Wood, which is extremely hard to work with, but absolutely outstanding when done right like this case — we have only made two to date. Even the trim work is unique — it is a cove trim instead of our normal chamfer — very classy rich look. Frame and Risers are thicker also — 7/8 vs. The normal 3/4 inch thick wood. The door is 1/2 inch instead of the normal 3/8 inch. Exotic Wood and Glass Case – Blood Wood. It is predrilled and pre-assembled – a small screw driver is required to attach the door. Then simply slide in the glass panels and top and add your collectables. Note: The case is shown with a clear glass back for the picture taking process as the mirror reflects the flash and distortes the image. This display case is handcrafted using solid 7/8 inch Blood Wood. This case has a mirrored back, glass sides and top, Wood/Glass door with brass hinges and a brass pull knob in front to allow for easy access to your collectables. The case design allows the contents to breathe while keeping them dust free. Each case is specially designed and handcrafted by Mike of Chameleon Woodcrafting. Mike meticulously finishes the wood by hand — first the case is sealed with an oil / varnish mixture, then sprayed with three coats of lacquer to bring out the unique characteristics of each piece of wood. The wood is then hand rubbed with a fine English wax to protect the finish. The bottom is a high quality felt. There are felt feet on the bottom. At Chameleon Woodcrafting, we us old world joinery and meticulous finishing techniques in each of our pieces. Usually Mike’s work is by custom order.
