Antique Original Wood & Glass Mirror Front Drawer from General Store. What a neat old piece in very nice & sturdy condition. There is some de-silvering to the mirror (no chips or cracks). There is a small crack in wood on interior piece (photo 5 upper right corner and close up in photo 21). That little crack does not affect the sturdiness of this drawer. It is very sturdy and well make. Natural aged patina to metal drawer pull, tiny nail heads & hardware on bottom of drawer. The one side of the drawer has a piece of wood stamped PENN YAH, NY (photo 15). Measures 11 3/4″ x 9 1/2″ x 8 3/4. Weighs 4 pounds 2 ounces (prior to packaging). This item measures approximately 24″ side to side, 3.0″ top to bottom and approximately 18.0 from front to back. This item has approximately 0.25 layer of foam under a green felt lining. The interior hinges will hold the lid upright when in the fully opened position. The front latches are able to be locked, however the keys were NOT included with the item. It appears the right edge was screwed into place after the glass was inserted so that edge is removable if needed. The reverse is inscribed by what this author believes is the cabinet maker, Al Weathers, and is dated Oct. 2001, followed by M. There is minimal wear and blemishes attributable to age and use. I will try and describe this to the best of my abilities. This wood counter top case could have been used to display pocket watches or some other quality merchandise – so mething that would fit in the 1 3/4″ by 1 1/4″ rectangular spots. This is a quality made showcase. The front drawer is for decoration purposes only and is missing its two pulls / knobs. I believe the glass top is original and it is beveled. The case itself sits at an angle. The measurements from tallest to shortest on the height – approx. It is 13 1/2″ wide and 9 1/2″ deep. The top display drawer is (interior measurement) just under 11″ by 7 3/4″ and maybe 3/4 deep. The second drawer is (interior again) just under 11″ by 7 3/4″ and 1 3/4″ at the back, at the lowest, to 3″. Some of the corners are dovetailed and some are nailed at flat planes. The ingenious “locking mechanism” for t. He top back drawer is a hat pin. This was probably a later though, and not original, for the case but thought up by some. Antique Wood General Store Counter Display Case Box For Watches Beveled Glass. My father picked this up on one of his antiquing trips a long time ago. I will try and describe this to the best of my abilities. This wood counter top case could have been used to display pocket watches or some other quality merchandise – so mething that would fit in the 1 3/4″ by 1 1/4″ rectangular spots. This is a quality made showcase. The front drawer is for decoration purposes only and is missing its two pulls / knobs. I believe the glass top is original and it is beveled. The case itself sits at an angle. The measurements from tallest to shortest on the height – approx. It is 13 1/2″ wide and 9 1/2″ deep. The top display drawer is (interior measurement) just under 11″ by 7 3/4″ and maybe 3/4 deep. The second drawer is (interior again) just under 11″ by 7 3/4″ and 1 3/4″ at the back, at the lowest, to 3″. Some of the corners are dovetailed and some are nailed at flat planes. The ingenious “locking mechanism” for t. He top back drawer is a hat pin. This was probably a later though, and not original, for the case but thought up by some.
