A mahogany color wood frame, featuring a hinged top lid, four columns at the corners and four sided glass. The top lid is marked “Boston Garter” in gold letter outlined in black. The hinges work well. The lid is held open by a brass chain. A gold-leaf cautionary notice is painted on the inside of the lid by the George Frost Company. Base inside the box is two pieces of wood with divided parts at the sides. The bottom of the box is with four rivets preventing scratches. All joints are solid and tight. Notably, the surface of the top lid is not even, with a slightly curved appearance. The display box is designed to conveniently hold such as baseball cards in the hobby and other intended items. Measures: Exterior, 14 ¼” wide x 6″ high x 9 ½ deep; Interior, approx. 12″ wide x 4 ¾” high x 7 ¼ deep. Weight, 4 lbs & 9.9 oz (2.09 kg).
