Antique Longines Chronometer in Mahogany Wood Case Runs! , Made in 1942
Mahogany Wood Case Runs! Serial # 6403025, Produced in 1942. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself! There was no outer case that came with this model, only the inner case that holds the movement, which is how originally offered. We can therefore better control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don’t have the overhead that the higher end houses and art galleries experience. Nice mahogany wood case. No cracks, hairlines, or repairs to the wood case. Some very minor finish loss to the case from age and use. The push button latch on the top part of the case is in place and operates. The lock is in place on the bottom of the case, no key comes with this offering. The bottom of the wood case has green felt on it. The glass inside the case is intact, no cracking or blistering. The gimbal ring and the lock for the ring are in place. Still has a fairly good brass lacquer finish on them. The movement has a silver colored face. The minute, hour and seconds hand are black and look appropriate to the clock. The wind strength meter hand is not in place. This is an 8 day movement, so if wound fully the clock would run for 8 days. A 17 jewel movement. We do not recommend that antique clock movements ever be wound tightly. There is no serial number on the gimbal ring or the case of the chronometer. Serial number is 6403025, which would date the piece to 1942. Also, has 21.29 noted on the back of the movement. The brass gimbal ring and the case for the movement show some tarnishing and finish loss as well. The chronometer case is 4-3/16″ tall, by 6″ across, by 6 wide. The clock face is 2-7/8 across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions. There is no representation that the chronometer is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order. Seth Thomas Mahogany Tambour Case 2 Movement Clock 4 Rod Runs Strikes & Chimes
Seth Thomas Mahogany Tambour Case. 2 Movement Clock 4 Rod Strike. Runs Strikes and Chimes. 89M and 119A BrassMovements. Here is an opportunity to own a Seth Thomas Tambour Case Clock with a 4 Rod Westminster Chimes Strike that is in very nice condition. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Very unique one here. The clock dates to the mid 1910s period. This is one of the most exceptional condition clock cases that have seen in a long time. Very little wear and no crazing to the finish at all. Very well taken care of over the years, not one of your stored in the attic cases that shows heat damage. We can therefore better control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don’t have the overhead that the higher end houses and galleries pass on to their clients. This clock was probably made in the mid 1910’s period. Not sure what model this is yet. You be the judge at to the clock’s age and the model number before acquiring. Nice solid wood mahogany case on this clock. Has a beautiful brownish gold finish to the case. In exceptional condition as noted earlier. No cracks, repairs or splits to the case that we can ascertain. The finish to the case does show some minor finish wear from time. See nothing on the inside of the case or the outside to show that the case was ever refinished at any time. The 8 day brass clock and chime movements appear to be in good condition. The three wind springs feel sound when keyed. The appropriate pendulum bob is with the clock. The chimes unit is a number 119A. The time/strike unit is a number 89M. The brass plates of the time and chimes’ units show some loss of finish from oiling and time over the years. The clock was made to chime every 15 minutes and then chimes, and strikes the number of hours on the hour. The chimes unit is to the Westminster chime sound. The clock is currently in running condition. Striking, and chiming as expected as well. The brass plate is in place to lift the strike hammers when you wish to silence the clock. The one strike hammer does not stay on top of the rod, still strikes as expected. The strike hammers doe need some adjustment for the rods to ring true when struck. There is no representation that the clock is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order. The face of the clock does show some moderate wear to the silver colored finish. Says “Sonora Chime” and “Made by Seth Thomas in USA” at the bottom of the face. The face is made of tin and has black colored incised numbers. Beautiful gold colored trim ring around the face. The clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The front bezel door is in place, and the beveled glass is there as well. No cracks or blistering to the glass. The rear wood door of the clock is still in place. The clock comes with the 4 original wood feet. The clock will come with a winding key. The clock stands 11.75″ tall, by 18-3/8″ across, by 8 wide (w/ beveled glass). The clock face is 5.5 across. This was definitely a quality clock made around 100 years ago. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description. Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. So again, ask all questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the clock on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. Antique Junghans 3 Wind Mantel Clock Westminster Chimes Rounded Top Case Runs
Antique Junghans 3 Wind Mantel Clock Westminster Chimes Rounded Top Case. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Very unique Junghans clock case here. The clock probably dates to the 1910 to 1915 period. Check out the beautiful rounded top on the clock case. The case is all intact, no missing pieces. Some minor finish loss to the case. The rear wood door is intact and securely attached to the case by the hinges. Some paint specks in places. The brass wafer legs are still in place. A hairline crack run length wise to the bottom piece of the wood case. Some wear and tear and loss of finish to the case, most notably along the edges and corners. The wood case has been wiped down, could still use a good cleaning. Nice mahogany case on this clock. Some crazing to the finish in places. The clock face is silver with black numbers. Then the rest of the plate the face is on is gold colored. Has a great incised design of flowering and scrolls on the metal face that has a gold colored lacquer on it. Some loss of finish around the wind holes. No grommets around the wind holes, don’t think there ever were any. The bezel front wood door is securely attached to the case by the hinges. Same with the back door. The glass in the bezel is intact, no cracking or blistering. The glass does need to be secured more with tacks, as loose in door now. The brass movement looks good. This is the B11 model. “140” is incised in the bottom right of the back plate of the movement. Two of the three wind springs feel sound when keyed. The left one that controls the??? Has a broken spring. The clock has not been running since we acquired it. Chimes hammers could use some adjustment to strike rod for a better sound. The clock has the pendulum bob (do not think original one), and will come with a wind key. The 5 rod gong unit is in place and securely attached to the case. The clock has a Westminster Chime’s unit. The clock chimes every 15 minutes, and then will chime and strikes on the hour. This is a five rod chime/strike unit. The Junghans Mantel Clock stands 16-5/8″ tall, by 12.25″ across, by 8-5/8 wide. The clock face is 5.25 across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, We would suggest you steer clear. Lorenz Furtwängler Söhne Mantel Clock Bim Bam Strike Runs Strikes Mahogany Case
Antique Lorenz Furtwangler and Sohne. Bim Bam Strike Runs & Strikes. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! This clock has a beautiful mahogany wood case. All the trim work is there as are the brass cannonball legs. The wood case has some minor finish loss and crazing. The clock was probably made in the late 1800s to mid 1910s by a German clock maker, Lorenz Furtwangler and Sohne. Also notes Clock Factory on the back of the movement and the case. The rear wood door is securely attached to the case by two brass hinges. The knob is even still with it. The fabric on the side panels and back door is old and weathered. Nice looking gold colored metal clock face. The black numbers and minute marks are inciside onto the face. Also, a beautiful applied gold colored pieces on all four corners of the clock face. The clock was distributed by J E Caldwell, a fine jewelry store that once operated in Philadelphia, PA. The black clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. Good l00king brass movement in the case. Has the maker mark noted on the back brass plate of the movement. This clock has an 8 day movement. The pendulum that came with it looks appropriate to the clock and is quite heavy. The clock comes with a vintage wind key. The 2 springs feel sound when keyed. Check out the nice 2wire gong unit that does a bim bam strike every 15 minutes and then strikes the hours on the hour. The clock has been running and striking since we acquired it. Just cleaned and oiled the pivot points on the back plate of the movement. The clock stands 15.5″ tall (14.5″ w/ handle down), by 10-3/16″ across, by 7-3/16″ wide. The clock face is 5.25 across. Seth Thomas Mahogany Tambour Case 2 Movement Clock 4 Rod Runs Strikes & Chimes
Seth Thomas Mahogany Tambour Case. 2 Movement Clock 4 Rod Strike. Runs Strikes and Chimes. 89AM and 119 Brass Movements. Here is an opportunity to own a Seth Thomas Tambour Case Clock with a 4 Rod Westminster Chimes Strike that is in very nice condition. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Very unique one here. The clock dates to the mid 1910s period. Very good condition clock cases here. Very little wear, certainly some crazing to the finish. Has a beautiful dark brown finish to the case. The chimes unit is a number 119. The time/strike unit is a number 89AM. There is no representation that the clock is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order. The face of the clock does show some moderate wear to the silver colored finish. Says “Made by Seth Thomas in USA” at the bottom of the face. The clock stands 11.75″ tall, by 18-3/8″ across, by 7-7/8 wide (w/ beveled glass). Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions! Please check out our other Timeless Tokens store listings as we are regularly adding new items. Antique Beehive Clock Mahogany Case Runs Strikes Unmarked Maker Germany. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! What makes this clock unique is the large face compared to the size of the case. This clock has a beautiful Beehive or Steeple look wood case on it. All the trim work is there as are the wood wafer legs. The case has some minor finish loss and crazing across the entire case. The clock was probably made in the early to mid 1910s by a German clock maker, maker is unknown. Clock case appears to be an oak, but clock is fairly light weight wise, so not quite sure what is going on here. Again, not sure what maker or model this clock is. The wood case is made of what appears to be oak. The rear wood door is securely attached to the case by two brass hinges. The knob is even still with it. Nice looking silver colored metal clock face. The black numbers and minute marks are placed onto the face. Also, a beautiful incised design around the entire clock face. The black hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The bezel is securely attached to the case by the hinge, a little tight at the hinge. The flat beveled glass is intact, no cracking or blistering. Good l00king brass movement in the case. Has no maker marks on the case, face or movement. This clock has an 8 day movement. The pendulum that came with it looks appropriate to the clock and is quite heavy. The clock comes with a vintage wind key. The 2 springs feel sound when keyed. Check out the nice wire gong unit. The clock has been running and striking since we acquired it. Just cleaned and oiled the pivot points on the back plate of the movement. The clock stands 11.75″ tall, by 10″ across, by 6.75 wide. The clock face is 7 across.
