Exotic Wood and Glass Display Case – Asian Merrbau. Note: The case is shown with a clear glass back for the picture taking process as the mirror reflects the flash and distortes the image. This wood is a chestnut color with exceptional natural gold highlights that make it just one of the most stunning woods we have ever work with. We have tried to find some more of this rare wood with the gold highlights found in the last two cases that we have to no avail — these will be the last of thier kind and very rare case(s) to own. This display case is handcrafted using solid 3/4 inch Asian Merrbau. The case has a mirrored back, two adjustable shelves, glass top and sides, and two sliding glass doors in front to allow for easy access to your collectables. The case design allows the contents to breathe while keeping them dust free. These cases can be quickly and effortlessly converted into several different configurations depending on your changing collectable needs — adding additional shelves, removing a shelf, you can even use it as a Doll Case by removing all the shelves and brass pins! Each case is specially designed and handcrafted by Mike of Chameleon Woodcrafting. Mike meticulously finishes the wood by hand — first the case is sealed with an oil / varnish mixture, then sprayed with three coats of lacquer to bring out the unique characteristics of each piece of wood. The wood is then hand rubbed with a fine English wax to protect the finish. The bottom is covered with a high quality felt and the shelf pins are solid brass. All cases have felt feet. At Chameleon Woodcrafting, we us old world joinery and meticulous finishing techniques in each of our pieces. Usually Mike’s work is by custom order. The outside dimensions of this case are 18″ tall by 14 wide and 12″ deep. The inside dimensions of this case are 17.25″ tall by 12.5″ wide and 10.5 deep. Note: All sales are final.
